Hair Transplant Surgery Follow-Up: Get Rid of Those Tell-Tale ‘Donor Spots’

After hair transplant surgery, the area of follicle extraction for the most part is visible and is referred to as the "donor site." This area can remain red and can even keloid. Post 6 months surgery, we treat this site first by first breaking up the scar or keloid, if any. This flattens the area so it will be once again smooth.

The next step is camouflage – performing micro pigmentation to mimic the growth of the immediate area.  Known as "scalp shading," or "scalp camouflage," this technique is also used for camouflaging alopecia.
