Permanent Makeup FAQ's
Will it hurt?
No. Two topical anesthetics are used, one before the procedure and one during the procedure.
Might I be allergic to the pigments?
You will be allergy tested before we begin, but the chances of you being allergic are unlikely. Ann D uses natural, non-irritating Kolorsource Hypo Allergenic Pigments, and so far has never encountered an allergic reaction in anyone.
Is there downtime after a procedure?
You may experience slight swelling or redness which will subside quickly. You can however resume normal activity immediately.
What if I don't like it?
Ann D sees every client twice. A follow up visit is included in the fee. At that time we critique what was initially done and, if needed, we can add color or make changes.
Can I see what it will look like before we go ahead?
Absolutely! During your free consultation, Ann D shows you what it will look like by drawing on your skin with removable marker. Or, if you prefer, you can use the marker yourself to show Ann what you want.
Is there a choice of colors?
Of course. And Ann assists you in color selection based on your skin's undertones. This is extremely important to avoid color changes later on.
How long will my permanent makeup last?
In most cases it should last five to ten years, depending on your metabolism and other factors. A touch up will help to rejuvenate the color from time to time.
What makes it safe?
We use disposable one-time single use needles AND disposable one-time single use color tubes. In addition, we practice Universal Precautions as set by the Center for Disease Control.
